What does a title sequence look like?
for these images it makes the opening scene to dirty harry look very intimidating, with guns everywhere and Clint Eastwood with his big sunglasses. but this is to show the main parts of the film, the charter that Eastwood plays seems like a cold hearted killer; but be does it as a living as it i very clean and neat. this is also a good example of a thriller type of film, it has a number of close-ups and long shot; trying to show different details in the film.Sunday, 23 January 2011
sin city
The first image is the title of the film. The title is made of skyscrapers and gets filled with blood to give it colour; this gives a good impression of what kinds of things we will be seeing in the film. The second image is setting the location of the film. It is in a big city; by using this long shot it gives the feel of a huge city with lots of diverse population of people who live there. The third image is showing the types of clothes they are wearing, while the whole scene is in black and wight the girl's dress is bright red, showing that red is a very distinct colour in this film. The man is just in a suit; they both seem to be wearing good quality of clothing. The fourth image is a example of a good shot in the sequence, they use some match-on-action when he hands her a cigarette. As she takes it, the camera snaps to her hand and back again. The fifth image is showing the font of the text, it looks like some one has taken a thick paintbrush and painted it to the screen, similar to a comic book style that the film is based on. It also has the bright red just like the woman's dress. The sixth image relates to the story of the film. In the shot you can see that he has just shot her; this may mean that the film has a clear story but has a dark undertone to it with death and blood. The seventh image shows the genre of the film, in the shot a man is slowly walking towards this woman; this may make people ask "who is this man?" or "what is he doing?" and these kinds of questions make the audience think of a thriller as it makes people ask questions. The eigth image shows the introduction of characters. The characters seem to be in a party, as what they are wearing looks like party wear, and it seems like the girl need some air and the man is just going out to see how she is doing and tell her that he loves her. The final image is a shot that I liked, it is right at the end of the scene where he is sitting with her as she dies. I like the high angle showing their whole bodies; it shows a lot of emotion in the scene but again has a dark undertone.

domein
the first image is the title of the film, the text is a neon light style which gives it a modern style and could relate to city lights and suburban shopping areas. the second image sets the location of the film, seems to be based in a city but later on in the sequence there are pictures of a open road which could mean that the film also goes on the road for a bit. the third image show the types of cloths the charters where, they seem to be modern style and looks very rebellious because she is wearing lots of jewraly and a leather cloths; then later you see a man with a shotgun belt which could tell us that there will be lots of shooting in the film. the forth image is a interesting piece of editing, where they take the shots in the title sequence and quickly go thought each on in a line of shots on screen. the firth image shows the font of the text. it is in a neon light style, which could relate to the place where the film is set; or that kind of things they could be doing in the film. the sixth image is the story of the film. a woman is pointing a shotgun at a girl behind a wall, there must be a resome for this kind of violent action and this is problem the main part of the story or what the story leads to in the end. the seventh image show the gearna of the film. the man is bleeding out on the floor, this show distress and violence and these kinds of feathers show up in thriller films. the eight image shows how the characters are introduced. the shot of each person are extrema close-ups, not showing any of the area around them, this gives the feeling that every thing in the scene is considered and over the top. the final image shows a image that I liked. I liked this becasue of the way they traslation between the shots by using a split effect.conventions of your chosen genre
My chosen genre is thriller. the main conventions of a thriller film are:
- thriller are made to keep people on the "egae-of-their-seats". keep up the interest and build it up to the climax of the film.
- the main charter is stuck in a place where their is going to be danger or pain to them or others.
memnto (film)
Memento use a range of shot typles, but it is mainly mid and close-up shots; this is to restrict the amount of information for the audience. just as the main charter don't have time to think about fine details, this is reflected in the way the shot types used. also, there is a large use of panning and point of view as the main charter looks around him to see where he is, they gives a good idea to the adencs of where he is now. the mesn-en-sence of the how film is very urbal, with the mani charter waking up in hotel rooms and finding himself in a old buildings; becasue of this everything seems to be very dirty and cold, simirar to the feeling he is haveing from hunting down the man who killed his wife. the is not a lot of music in this film, the main sounds you are hiring is the thorghts of the main chater and his coversations with other chaters. but there is some hiperbolic sounds at the begining where he shots that man; the gun shot and the shell falling to the flood are enfersized. the editing for this film is very unquec, as rather than going forwards in the story is goes backwards. also, each scene is split by a short scene that is go foreward; but it is in black and wight and is the only part where we see the main chater rembering very thing and telling it to a man on the phone.
memento (opening)
the first image is of the title of the film, it is a very simple title with a blue text and a black background. the second image is of the location, it is a dark room with where the only light come from the door; this givens a feeling of not know where or what is going on. the third image is of where the charters are introduced, this is done in the lobby of a motel; where the main charter asks the owner about a photo of a man. this is done to give a simple introduction of the charters, as the main charter also doesn't know who the charters. the forth image is of a interring shot, in the shot the photo is benign shaken backwards; this is related to the may the film, goes backwards after every scene. the firth image is about the font of the title, the letters are tall but simple and blue; they are put over the shot. the sixth image is related to the story of the film, a man is dead on the floor with blood all over the wall; this make the viewer ask questions like "why is he dead" and other similar questions.

audience research 2
the final question was to find what people want to get out of a film; why they want to see a film. from the chart you can see that 30% like to see a film that will make them think and give them a story with lots of twists and terns.the second question of the questionnaire was to give me a idea of how long someone wants to seat and watch a film. for the results, it seems that a good length of a film is 2 hours; i will use this to make a story that could last for a 2 hour film.
this was my first question of my questionnaire, it was to help me to understand what kinds of films people like to go and see. it give me a great mixed of answers, but the results seem stereotypical with men choosing the action, thriller and comedy; and the girls choosing Rom-com and drama. by looking at the results i think the best direction is to make a film a bit more interesting to men.

film synopsis
at the beginning of ... a member of a organised crime group, Danny, is dropped off next to a car park, he believes that he is going to a important deal with a drug dealer. as he goes into the car park he begins to feel suspicious of his surroundings, glasing around, he notices a policeman standing by the exit. he then looks around to see a man standing in the middle of the car park , that it is a trap, planned by a private investigator, to arrest him for the things he has done. he try to get away by running through the car park, but the PI is in hot pursuit; chasing him all over the car park. final, they get to the top floor of the car park and the crime jumps off the top; why would he kill himself? later in the film, you find out that the private investigator is hired by the police to find a man with connections to a number of robbers and murders, within the local area. as he investigates the man, he begins to follow the story of his life while traveling around the city looking for him. he learns that he was not always been in crime, he worked as a engineer; but could not get the money he needed to pay his bills. he starts to help some guy move things around the town. as the story goes along he find that they are part of a criminal group and slowly moves up the ranks to a very high position in the group. as he goes up the ranks he is asked to do things that most people wouldn't. one of these things was to burn a house, after he did it he found that there was a whole family in the house; he became very depresed. by this point, the IP has found him and makes a fake deal with him to trap him. this is how we get to the start of the film.

double indemnity
the first image is of the title of the film, which is in big wight text with a background of gray and a man in crutches. the second sets the scene, with men working on the road in a city with a snig saying where they are. the third image relating to the cloths the man is wearing, he is in a trench coat and suite, this is a typical type of clothing for the 50s; also he seems to be a business man as they seem like they are very good quality of clothing. the forth image is of a interesting type of editing, where the shot is transferred with a fade rather than a cut, this makes the shots seem seamless; and giving it a eerie feeling as it seems to fading in to a fog. the firth image it about the type of font on the titles, it is a big text, wight and with black outline or shadowing; behind the text is a man limping on a pair of crutches, this could be giving the audience a idea of what may be happening in the film or what could happens alter in the film. the sixth image is related to the story of the film, the man begins to record something into the machine he has; he begins to explain things he has be doing and gives some explanation to why he got shot. the seventh image is related to the grena of the film, the man in the car is driving in a very dangers way, meaning he is running from something; this make the audience sit on the "eage-of-thier-sets", the main forces of a thriller film. the eight image shows the introduction of charters in the film, we meet the main charter as he begins to talk to the elevator assist, who tells us his name, but the main charter seems very quiet and very unfirendly to the assist. the final image is of a shot I liked, I think that the shot of the stop light is good as it cleary shows the car is in a rael hurry as it changes soon befor the car gets there and he still goes thought the light; show off the grean of the film.Wallander

the first image is the title of the program, it is black text on a yellow background which could show caution for what will be going with in the program. the second image shows the location of the scene, it is next to the coast with nothing around but farm; this makes the adencs ask why they are so far from a town and in the middle of nowhere. the third image show the costumes, they are modern but covered in blood; they are both dressed in very different styles. the one on the left is wearing more of a rebuses cloths with the denom and the razor blade on her nickle, whereas as the girl on the right is wearing more of a socale kind of cloths. the forth image is of a license in the car, this has a interesting dler around the shot, making it look as if we a disoriented; just like the guy in the car. the fifth image is of the title of the film, it is black text on a yellow back ground, the usually colours of caution; this could be forwarding things later in the series. the sixth image is related to the story of the series, these girls have tyred to kill a man; why would they want to do this? this is what people would be asking while watching this, this make the audience think about what may happen later in the film. the seventh image is related to the grena of the program, from picture i could be seen to be a horror but it is more likely to be a thriller; as this would make more of a interesting style for a TV program. the eight image shows the introduction of charters in the scene. the two girls are introduced walking, silently, away from the car; with very blank faces. it is like they don't even know that their is a dead man in the car behind them, this give the adence a strange feeling about these girls. the final image shows a shot that I liked the most. I liked this shot because of the way they use foces on the shot to make everything look blury.
